Usually when you go to the dentist they take x-rays to look for cavities and other problems between your teeth. Necessary, but not exactly exciting. You get these little black and white films that are hard to look at.

What we have are digital radiographs! This is just like a digital camera. The ‘film’ is now called a ‘sensor’ and is attached to my computer with a thin USB cable. When the x-ray is taken, the x-ray appears instantly on my monitor. Instead of it being real little, it is the size of my monitor. Both of us can now see what’s going on instantly! And I can do some really enhancements to look for tarter between your teeth or real little cavities that would be hard to detect on traditional size films.

Also, because the ‘sensors’ are so sensitive, it takes 50-90% less radiation when using digital radiographs. I can do a better job of diagnosing any potential problems before they become troublesome.
