With the increase of television shows like Extreme Makeover, A Brand New You, The Swan and Ten Years Younger, we have all seen the amazing results that can be achieved with cosmetic dentistry.
The smile lift gives patients a more youthful appearance in as little as two visits. The procedure has been likened to fitting false nails, where the teeth are polished away slightly and porcelain veneers are placed onto the teeth, thus creating a fuller smile.
Porcelain veneers are thin shells of porcelain that fit over the front surface of your natural teeth. They are custom made from moulds taken of your teeth and chemically bonded onto your teeth and should last 10-15 years. They will not change colour over time.
What we usually do is take models of your teeth and add wax to them to stimulate the final result (wax-up). This will show you what the final result could look like and exactly how many veneers you will need. We also take photographs of your teeth and smile and simulate on the computer what your final smile could look like before any treatment begins. We will fit temporary veneers that are fitted onto your teeth until the porcelain veneers are ready.
